We will work with letters & sounds to pictures & words, rhyming & singing to story telling, identifying & naming and much more. This is to increase their vocabulary, build up their self-confidence, where children are able to express themselves as they act out the characters of the stories told, through play & discussions, puppet show/ finger puppet.
Theme Projects
Simple & interesting projects will be taught to create awareness & to quench curiosity. Themes will be change each term. A time to express their imagination through mixing & matching of colours, moulding, decorating, messing-up and do crafty artwork.
Music
Children will be taught different music & movements, folk dances, songs & music relating to movies for children, usage of different musical instruments, self-made musical instruments. A syllabus especially designed by Muzikgarten is taught every Wednesdays. Music Appreciation classes for the older children.
Number Work
Children will participate in different ways of relating to numbers in the environment. Creating a fun & effective way of learning numbers, relating them to counting & matching to quantities. They will also work with the different Montessori Math apparatus according to their level.
Fun Friday
It’s ‘share-a-snack, preparation-of-food and cleaning & clearing up’ Day, creating an independent working environment for the child. Children will be taught to share & care, to prepare their own snack like scramble eggs, pancakes & sandwiches.
Free choice
Activities to enhance the hand & wrist movements, hand-eye co-ordination and sense of order through working with the different apparatus prepared for them in the environment. This will increase their concentration level and a sense of order as they are challenged in this area.
Circle Time
A session of greeting, grace & courtesy and to remind them about the school rules. Teaching new songs and movements is our specialty!
Lunch
Children will learn to set the table for lunch, to serve, to eat together practising good table manners and etiquettes and to clean up after that.
We serve a variation of chinese & western cuisine such as chicken rice, spaghetti bolognaise and pizza.
Snack time
Children are encouraged to bring simple snacks to share with their friends on Fridays.
Class Time
This is a time where each child is evaluated at his own pace. The work & worksheet given will be according to their ability and level of understanding. They will be evaluated in four areas – Practical Life, Sensorial, Language & Number Work.
